Red Velvet Cake

"Red Velvet Cake" is a very Popular n famous Cake, all over the world. All Cake Lovers like me, should really give it a try. As a food blogger, it was always my dream to make this popular cake. At last, this week i collected all the required ingredients, and i decided to bake it for my parents wedding day... :-) That was a great idea, because this Cake's taste was too awesome and the color was also astonishing :-) A heart shaped red velvet cake and cute little cup cakes for my sweet and lovable parents. It was a big hit, everyone just loved it.. !! :-) I was also so happy in accomplishing my dream... :-) :-)

Ingredients :

1 Maida / All Purpose Flour 2 1/2 cup
2 Unsalted Butter 100 gm
3 Sugar 1 1/2 cup
4 Egg 2
5 Butter Milk 1 cup
6 Red Liquid Food Color 3-4 tbsp
7 Baking Soda 1 tsp
8 Vanilla Essence 1 tsp
9 Cocoa Powder 2 tbsp
10 Instant Coffee Powder 1/2 tsp
11 Salt 1/2 tsp
12 White Vinegar 1 tsp

Preparation :  

1) Sieve Maida along with Salt and Cocoa Powder. Keep aside.
2) Grease the Baking Tray and Muffin Cups with Butter and Keep aside. Dust with flour if you wish. (I used Silicone mould, It doesn't need dusting)
3) Mix the Red Liquid food color in the Butter milk and keep it aside.
4) Beat the butter until it becomes soft, then add sugar and beat well, until it becomes fluffy.
5) Add egg to this butter sugar mixture and beat well. Add vanilla essence and once again beat well.
6) Now preheat the Oven for 5 minutes. (Time depends on the Oven you Use)
7) Now alternatively add Maida and Buttermilk little at a time, to the above mixture and mix it gently without any lumps.
8) Now take Vinegar in a bowl,add the baking soda and mix well. It starts bubbling, immediately pour it to the above prepared batter and mix well.
9) Pour this batter in the muffin cups. Fill it till 3/4th level, leave some space for the cake to rise.
10)Bake this for about 15 minutes (for cup cake) and 45 minutes (for the big heart shaped cake) at 180 degree Celsius until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake, comes out clean.
11) Leave it to cool. Then transfer it to a air tight container and refrigerate for 1 hour.
12) Now you can do the frosting as you wish. I made cream cheese frosting in chocolate flavor and decorated the cake.
