Chettinad Chicken Fry

Dear Friendz. Today im gonna post a Chicken recipe which originates from the Chettinad Cuisine of Tamil Nadu. This is a very simple n spicy chicken fry. It tasted so awesome.. :-) You cant even stop eating this fry.. It tempts you to eat more.. :-) So beware of this delicious n spicy chicken fry.. This goes well with Rice varieties and its a best side dish for Biryani.
Lets get into the recipe now..!!


Ingredients : 
 
    1     Chicken     1/2 kg
    2     Turmeric Powder     1/2 teaspoon
    3     Curd     3 teaspoon
    4     Ginger     2 inch
    5     Garlic     10 Nos
    6     Pepper Corns     1 teaspoon
   7     Dry Red Chillies     8 Nos
   8     Fennel (Sombu)     1 teaspoon
   9     Cinnamon     2 sticks
   10     Cardamon     4 Nos
   11     Cloves     5 Nos
   12     Shallots (Small Onion)         8 Nos
   13     Coconut (Shredded)     3 teaspoon
   14     Salt     As Required
   15         Oil     For Deep Frying   

Preparation :

1) Clean the Chicken.
2) Add Curd & Turmeric Powder along with the Chicken & mix well. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
3) Now grind the remaining items to a fine paste. (Ginger, Garlic, Pepper, Red chillies, Fennel, Cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamon, Shallots and Coconut)
4) Apply this to on the chicken. Add required Salt. Mix well & marinate this for 1 hour.
5) Now heat oil in a pan. Deep fry this marinated chicken in a medium flame.
6) Drain the excess oil using a tissue paper & serve hot with sliced lemon on top of it.

Note : Since we are adding onion to this chicken, it may ooze out while you fry. It may look messy. So, to avoid it- you can add 2 teaspoons of Corn Flour or an Egg. This will help to blend the onion to the chicken.
