Hi friends. Today i made mushroom biryani for lunch. It came out so well, it tasted just like mutton biryani. :-) So i decided to share this simple n awesome recipe, with you guys.. I used Button mushrooms in this recipe. It should be fresh & white in color. This recipe goes well with Onion raita.

1 | Seeraga Samba Rice | 2 cups |
2 | Sliced Onions | 2 Nos |
3 | Button mushrooms | 1 cup |
4 | Curd | 1/2 cup |
5 | Ginger Garlic paste | 2 teaspoons |
6 | Black pepper powder | 1 teaspoon |
7 | Chilli powder | 1/2 teaspoon |
8 | Turmeric Powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
9 | Garam Masala | 1/2 teaspoon |
10 | Salt | As Required |
For Seasoning :
1 | Brinji Leaf | 1 |
2 | Star anise | 1 |
3 | Cloves | 5 |
4 | Cardamom | 6 |
5 | Cinnamon | 1 full piece |
Preparation :
1) Wash the mushrooms in running water & wipe it with a dry towel. Cut it into two pieces.
2) Heat a Pressure cooker. Add oil & little ghee.
3) After it gets hot, add the seasoning ingredients one by one & stir for 2 minutes.
4) Now add the sliced onions & saute till it becomes translucent.
5) Immediately add the ginger garlic paste & stir continuously till the raw smell goes.
6) Now add the turmeric powder, Chilli powder, pepper powder & salt. Mix well till it blends.
7) Add the mushrooms & stir well for 3-4 minutes. Add the thick curd at this stage & mix it.
8) Now add the garam masala & stir well. Pour 4 cups of water & let it boil.
9) When it starts boiling, add the rice & mix well.
10) Now cover the pressure cooker with its lid. Keep for 1 whistle & then minimize the flame and keep it in low flame. Switch off the stove after 5 minutes.
