Broccoli Subzi

Today i'm so glad to share this healthy recipe with you all.. :-) Broccoli is very good for health. It contains anti cancer properties, vitamin C and dietary fiber. In Tamil Nadu, we can get this in Reliance stores and some super markets. Please make a point to include Broccoli in your diet, in a weekly basis or twice a week. Now we'll move on to the recipe..


Ingredients :

  1   Broccoli   1 cup (washed dried n cut into florets)  
  2   Cumin Seeds   1/2 tsp
  3   Garlic   1 tbsp (chopped finely)
  4   Green Chillies   2 (chopped finely)
  5   Besan Flour (Kadala maavy)     1/2 cup
  6   Turmeric Powder   1/4 tsp
  7   Cumin Powder   1/4 tsp
  8   Garam Masala   1/2 tsp
  9   Coriander Powder   1/2 tsp
  10     Red Chilli Powder   1/4 tsp
  11   Salt   As Required
  12   Oil   2 tbsp

Preparation :

1) Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds & let it sizzle, then add ginger & chillies. Stir 2 mins.
2) Add Broccoli, salt and mix well. Cover the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes.
3) In a bowl, mix the besan flour, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder and 1 table spoon oil. Its not necessary to make it as a paste consistency. It has to be little dry.
4) Now open the pan, & sprinkle the above mixture evenly on top of the Broccoli. Dont mix it.
5) Close the pan and cook for  3 minutes.
6) Now open the pan, sprinkle little water and mix well. Once again close cook for 3 minutes and switch off the stove.

Healthy and Delicious Broccoli Subzi is ready to be served.. :-) It goes well with chappati, and rice. Enjoy..
